Peshawari Beef Chapli Kabab

Ingredients:
  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons ghee or oil
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • 2 green chilies, chopped (optional)
Method:
  1. Combine minced beef, chopped onion, garlic, ginger paste, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, red chili powder, garam masala powder, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix well with your hands or a wooden spoon until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  3. Add lemon juice, ghee or oil, chopped cilantro (if using), and chopped green chilies (if using). Mix again until just combined.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  6. Wet your hands with water and shape the beef mixture into small patties, about 3-4 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Add the patties to the preheated skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until they are cooked through and slightly charred.
  8. Serve hot with naan, rice, or your favorite sides.
