Suji Halwa

Description: Suji Halwa is a popular Pakistani dessert made with semolina flour, sugar, and milk. It's a rich, creamy, and sweet pudding-like dessert often served on special occasions.




Ingredients:
  • 1 cup semolina flour (suji)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cup ghee 
  • 6-8 cardamom
  • 1/2 cup chopped almonds, cashew nuts and pistachios (for garnish)
Method:
  1. Heat the ghee  in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the semolina flour and cook, stirring constantly, for 5-10 minutes or until lightly golden and fragrant.
  3. Make the sugar syrup,  In a saucepan, add sugar, cardamoms and water and cook over medium heat and let it boil.
  4. Cook, stirring frequently, Now, pour the sugar syrup into the semolina slowly and carefully, keep stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Keep stirring until the halwa thickens.
  5. Cook on low heat (dum) Now add a cup of milk, stir, and cover the lid for almost 10 minutes. 
  6. Garnish with chopped nuts, transfer the halwa on the serving dish and garnish with chopped nuts.
