Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds chicken
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

- 2 teaspoons garlic paste

- 1/4 cup ghee or vegetable oil
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh mint leaves
- 1/4 cup chopped almonds
- Salt, to taste

Method
- Marinate the chicken: In a large bowl, whisk together yogurt, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, and. Add the chicken and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.
- Cook the onions: Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee or oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are lightly browned and caramelized (about 20-25 minutes).
- Add the spices and chicken: Add the minced garlic, cumin powder, coriander powder, and turmeric powder to the saucepan and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned on all sides (about 5-7 minutes).
- Add the sauce: Pour the chicken broth, heavy cream, chopped cilantro, mint leaves, and almonds. Season with salt to taste. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Simmer and serve: Reduce the heat to low and let the qorma simmer, uncovered, for 20-25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve over basmati rice or with naan bread.
